Mike DeMasi
Can you believe your eyes? Mike Demasi has been tattooing professionally for only five years. He originally started tattooing out of his house while in high school, where he worked on family and friends to hone his skills. However, it wasn't until after graduating from high school (followed by a brief stint at university) that Demasi really got serious about tattooing.
"I have always been easily drawn towards realistic tattoos and looked up to guys like Deno Cook, Tom Renshaw, Jack Rudy, Keri Barba, Tony Olivas, St. Marq, Big Ed, Dark Horse aka Aric Taylor, and of course my favorite Mario Barth. My family has always been so supportive and never gave me crap about the decision to ditch college and tattoo full time. Their support really helped me focus on tattooing."
But Demasi struggled at first. He began his professional career by tattooing in a basic street shop. Just under one year had passed when Mike was unsure if he wanted to continue along his chosen path. Ever the non-conformist, it was a falling out with the shop's owner (and perhaps a little fate) that led Mike to leave the shop and begin working with then girlfriend Kirsten (Kirsten or Kristen?) who was a tattoo artist at another shop along with some mutual friends. When that shop began to fall under, tattooing was really starting to make it harder and harder for Mike to survive – but in the end, it was Demasi's passion and love for the craft that would not let him walk away.
"I did often wonder if I had made the right decision, but shortly after the shop closed, Mario Rosenao, Kristen, and I decided to become business partners and opened Art Junkies. We vowed to each other to do things much different than our prior work environments and still continue to so do." Since his move Mike Demasi has been recognized as one of the most groundbreaking and sought after tattoo artists of his generation and is responsible for executing some of the most advanced color portrait work ever to be seen! While developing his color techniques Demasi has always found Intenze Products to be a key component to his success as a tattoo artist. He swears by it, and you should too.
No other ink is of such high quality. No other ink is as rigorously tested for your safety. No other ink is Intenze.
